Hi - I'm Dawn Baggett
and I'd like to introduce you to my

4-Pillar Framework for
Decision-making Success.

Scroll down for Additional Detail
about each Individual Pillar
including key Bible verses.

You may be asking...

DO I NEED THIS FRAMEWORK & WHEN WOULD I USE IT?

  • If you're ever stuck about how to proceed;
  • Ever overwhelmed when facing a problem;
  • Ever wonder if you're on the right track or getting it right when making decisions...

Then perhaps this simple 4-pillar success framework can help.

How?
Use this approach to think through, pray through, talk through, journal through... and work through a variety of issues in your life so you aren't stuck in overwhelm or confusion anymore.

When?
You'd use it in smaller situations and in larger situations.  Again and again as you learn the process and get comfortable with it through practice.

Ideally you'd soon begin using the success framework frequently, as you mentally work through the 4 pillars as a checklist for decisions you make, perhaps on a daily or weekly basis.

For more in depth decisions you'd take time to work through each step, each pillar as deeply and intensely as needed.

Move Beyond Coin-Flipping…

Pillar 1 - SEEK

The first pillar of the 4-step framework is to seek.
It is crucial to seek the right thing, with the right motive, from the right source.

  • Right Thing: I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.  Psalm 119:45
  • Right Motive: And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6
  • Right Source: Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. 1 Chronicles 16:11

Pillar 2 - SAFETY

The second pillar is safety.  Without a sense of safety we aren't able to wholly focus on anything else.

  • God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
  • In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
  • The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. Proverbs 27:12

Pillar 3 - SOLUTIONS

The third pillar is solutions. It is important to actively seek solutions rather than ignore, pretend or wish for problems to resolve themselves.

  • Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6
  • Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
  • James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:1-27

Pillar 4-SUPPORT

The forth pillar is support.  Depending on your situation and your clear definition of success, the type and amount of support you'll need will vary.

  • And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ephesians 4:12
  • Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul. Psalm 54:4
  • Joanna, the wife of Herod's household manager Chuza; Susanna; and many others. These women continued to support them out of their personal resources. Luke 8:3
  • ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10

Nice, but I have questions...

Q. I have multiple issues and decisions to make.  Some of them are complex. How do I know where to start?

A. It's important to un-clump your issues and start with individual decisions.  Of course you'll consider the impact and implications of that one decision. You can even apply the framework to the "where do I start" decision.

Q. I'm afraid of making the wrong decision.  How can I be sure?

A. We all make wrong decisions at times, and decisions that could have been wiser.  That can be part of our growth process...if we let it.

I recommend starting small if you can, to get practice in going through the framework first, and get out of the habit of snap decisions.  Alternatively, you may need to get into the habit of making decisions with a simple framework that helps move you forward and out of decision paralysis.

Q. I'm not a Christian like you. Can I still use this decision-making framework?

A. You can certainly give it a go.
Of course, if you aren't a person of faith at all, then it will likely not appeal to you at all.

Q. I don't really have anyone to turn to for support in the decisions I have to make.  I'm not sure where to turn.

A. I've had that feeling before.  Starting with Pillar #1 and Seeking I recommend seeking God on the issue of support.  Whatever type of support you are seeking, ask him about it, perhaps to reveal the support he is making available to you.  And be alert to the support he provides.  It may come in an unexpected or unfamiliar form.
Would you like me to support you more personally?
