Light for a Dark World
On Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus into a very dark world. He was born in a place and time that was incredibly dark with murderous, dictatorial government and corrupt religious leadership.
The birth of Jesus, the Messiah, had been foretold, expected and yes, longed for by some. On one hand, he came in a very surprising and understated way, yet on the other hand it was glorious! The star, the angels . . . the wise men, the prophecies being fulfilled . . . the miraculous birth of a virgin young woman named Mary.
You know the story, at least part of it. But there is so much more to Jesus than a baby born in Bethlehem and placed in an animal feeding trough, a manger, for a bed!

The life of Jesus not only confirms him to be the long-awaited Messiah, the Son of God, but also gave us an example to follow.
Jesus exemplified servant-leadership in the most extreme way possible, by giving his life - in the most horrific suffering - as a substitute payment for each of our sins against Holy God.
His perfect life made him the perfect sacrifice once and for all.

In order to accept this free Gift - payment for our sins, wrongs, evils which each one of us has committed - we only need receive it by admitting our sins and trading them (repent, turn away from, relinquish them) for this Gift of Salvation, which is essentially adoption into God's family forever.
Spend the rest of your life on earth getting to know what it is to live as a child of God with the promise of forever in relationship with Him! Your soul can rest assured knowing you're safely in His care. Don't worry, you won't be on your own.
You're not expected to be perfect to be eligible for the Gift, nor to keep it. But you will have the power to change. God's power will reside within you and guide you in the person of the Holy Spirit - The Perfect Guide.
