A Prayer of Restoration*

The following prayer is based on a Bible passage from 2 Corinthians 13. When we don’t have the words to pray, we can trust God to provide them.

Heavenly Father,

I lift up my precious child/children to You, asking that they may continually examine their heart and faith. Grant them the wisdom and clarity to test their own feelings, thoughts, values and beliefs, realizing deeply that Christ Jesus dwells within them.

I trust in Your guidance and pray that they will stand firm in their faith, passing every test that comes their way.

Lord, I ask that You guard their heart and actions, so they will do nothing wrong. Not for the sake of appearances, or for my sake, but because doing what is right brings glory to Your name.

May they hold fast to the truth and live in accordance with Your will, for I know that nothing can stand against Your truth.

Thank You, Father, for the strength You give us, even in our weaknesses. Strengthen my child/children to overcome any and all of my deficiencies as their parent.

My deep desire is for my child/children to be strong in spirit and fully restored in their relationship with You. I place them in Your loving hands, trusting in Your perfect plan.

In Jesus' name, I pray,

Amen.

Hello - I’m Dawn Baggett and I want to welcome you to Legacy Life Coaching. I believe Christian coaching to be the best avenue for standing in the gap for adoptive moms and other “second moms” raising children with a history of broken attachment with their first moms and possibly other additional trauma in their backgrounds.

As an adoptive and special needs mom, I know firsthand the challenges that arise when navigating the intricate world of parenting in the midst of complex family dynamics.

As a post-adoption coach it's my mission to stand in the gap for second moms. There’s no erasing their history or the effects of our children’s first parents, or the traumas of losing them.

Along with my experiences as a mom, my legal education, experiences and life coach training have given me a unique perspective on how to approach and overcome obstacles that are often a part of these complex families, from trauma-based challenges, to attachment-related difficulties, to the lack of recognition and understanding of family, friends and even those in the current systems - medical, mental health, legal and educational - that are often ill-equipped for these types of challenges as I know first-hand.

Additionally, through my training, research and observations of other moms in similar situations, I’ve gained invaluable insights that can be applied to even the most baffling of circumstances.
