As a second mom, whether you’ve adopted or stepped into the role of motherhood, you know the heart and effort you pour into nurturing your child or teen.
You meticulously plan, pray over your strategies, and practice every form of parenting wisdom you’ve found.
You strive to be beneficial without triggering, functional without causing division, and helpful without being invasive.
Yet, despite these fervent efforts…
You meticulously plan, pray over your strategies, and practice every form of parenting wisdom you’ve found.
You strive to be beneficial without triggering, functional without causing division, and helpful without being invasive.
Yet, despite these fervent efforts…
…there are days when everything seems to fall apart.
You're not alone in this struggle.
Many second moms face the same challenges, feeling as if their best-laid plans are unraveling right before their eyes. It’s in these moments that doubt can creep in, making you wonder if you’re truly making a difference.
But let me offer you a word of encouragement from a biblical perspective:
your efforts are not fruitless
…even when you don't immediately see the fruit.

In Galatians 6:9, we are reminded, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." This scripture is a powerful reminder that perseverance in love and care is never in vain.
Long-range view
Your prayers, your thoughtful engagement, and your unconditional love are seeds planted in the life of your child. These seeds may lie dormant for a time, but they are working beneath the surface, ready to sprout in God's perfect timing.
Remember, the journey of parenting, especially as a second mom, is not about immediate results but about the long-term impact of your steadfast love and dedication. You have a part in shaping a life, influencing a heart, and helping to form a future that only God can fully see.
So, take heart!
Your efforts are seen and valued by the One who called you to this momentous role in each of your children’s lives. Keep pressing on, keep loving, and keep trusting in the process and most importantly — keep trusting in God’s plan for your life & the mothering role he has given you and in his love for you and your children.
